About

Rick’s bio
Following graduation from the nationally ranked Krannert School of Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis, Rick Olderman practiced at a small sports and orthopedic clinic in Cortez, CO. “Because the clinic had a small gym attached, I was able to progress patients to a higher functional level than if I were in a typical clinic”. This unique model influenced Rick to consider personal training. “I discovered that I enjoyed setting up therapeutic training programs for my patients as much as providing rehab solutions”.

Rick moved to Denver in 1999 and began working as a physical therapist and personal trainer at an exclusive health club in downtown Denver. While at The Athletic Club at Denver Place, he continued to experiment with blending rehabilitation with personal training while adding Pilates to his skill set. Within a few months, Rick became the top-producing trainer at the club. He held that position for the next four years.

In 2003 Rick created Z-Line Training. His Colorado-based studio/clinic and wide expertise allow him an extraordinary amount of flexibility. In addition to providing direct client services, Rick leads corporate seminars and assessments for injury prevention. Regardless of the organization or job, Rick applies his extensive knowledge of biomechanics to provide solutions to reduce and prevent injuries in workers. “I believe education is the key. I find that if you teach someone how the body works and why they experience pain, most people will help themselves. No one wants to be in pain.” He demonstrates his philosophy in the 2004 DVD, Eliminating Back Pain.

Rick is an active member of the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) and continues to explore combined rehabilitation and fitness techniques through professional development and continuing education. He lives and works in northwest Denver with his wife and two young children.
